The use of Dalgakiran chillers at the Elit-Plast enterprise in Kherson

Kherson-based Elit-Plast is one of the leading domestic enterprises that produces extruded polystyrene foam in accordance with European standards. The production of XPS by Elit-Plast is environmentally friendly, and the manufacture of Kherson products under the Kyoto Protocol set out to reduce hydrocarbon and CFC emissions to a minimum. Hence the requirements for peripheral processing equipment – high quality standards, environmental safety, guaranteed reliability and accuracy of operating parameters.

Extruded polystyrene foam XPS is a building material with low thermal conductivity and high resistance to compression. Both of these properties of XPS foam resulted in significant heating of the line equipment at different stages of material processing.

Cooling is required not only in areas of the process line that are far from each other, but also with different temperature conditions. For example, after the extrusion reaction is completed, it is necessary to start cooling the material in time, while the cooling rate varies. The crushing, molding, and rolling sections required heat removal, as well as the motors on the line and the guillotine that cut expanded polystyrene into plates.

Cold with a reserve

Taking into account the many places where cooling was required, Dalgakiran specialists suggested using a double-circuit monoblock refrigeration machine. The unit was placed outdoors. Dalgakiran chillers, which is the brand under which the company supplies refrigeration equipment to Ukraine, have all the necessary qualities.

Adjustable compressor capacity and a microprocessor control system allow Angara’s water chillers to control the operation, adjusting the operating parameters to the required ones. The EHBV series chiller installed at the Kherson plant is quite economical. At the same time, a significant power reserve of 379 kW allows it to produce cold that meets all the needs of the XPS plate production line.

However, four years ago, the management of Elit-Plast was thinking about the future. Therefore, when choosing a Dalgakiran chiller, they purchased equipment with a power reserve.

Now they are going to launch another production line in Kherson. We will not have to buy additional refrigeration equipment. “Hangar” will cope with the increased load. Elite-Plast is confident in this.
