The main advantage of gaseous nitrogen and oxygen generators is that the customer can receive gas mixtures with the required purity of the initial product directly at the place of their consumption.

We offer two types of technical solutions for the customer:

  1. Installations that are assembled in the customer’s technical premises can be developed according to the customer’s individual requirements and installed directly on site.
  2. Installations in containerized design can be offered both in standard design and developed for an individual order. The containerized air distribution units provided simplify delivery, reduce installation and commissioning time due to their pre-assembly. Such installations do not require a dedicated technical room at the customer’s premises, they can be installed outdoors.

Types of air distribution installations

  • Adsorption installations that use special adsorbers (molecular sieves) in their work. For nitrogen production, this is a carbon adsorber, and for oxygen generation – synthetic zeolites. The technology allows for good scalability of performance, so the nitrogen generators from Ideal Makina offered by us have in their model range solutions with a capacity from 5.8 to 2750 m3/h at a gas purity of 95% (or from 0.5 to 285 m³/h at a gas purity of 99.999%). Also, the advantages of the technology include low electricity costs for obtaining nitrogen and oxygen, long service life of the adsorbent due to its regeneration, the ability to quickly stop and resume work without any technological restrictions.
  • Cryogenic plants that require extremely low temperatures (-190 ° C and below) and high pressure for their operation. Such an air separation process is called low-temperature rectification. The operating mode of cryogenic plants imposes its limitations, which makes their design quite complex and cumbersome. Mostly, this type of plant is used for large volumes of liquefied gas, where low cost is achieved due to the scale effect. For small production volumes of less than a thousand cubic meters of gas per hour, it is impractical to use this technology. The reason for this is the long operating cycle and maintenance costs, which makes the creation of low-power plants unprofitable.
  • Membrane plants – are used only for obtaining nitrogen. Today, this is the least popular solution used for medium-sized production volumes. The reason for this lies in the technology – air separation occurs when passing through a special membrane, which requires high pressure and temperature of the supplied air. Thus, this type of nitrogen production has the highest cost. For one cubic meter of nitrogen produced, twice as many kWh of electricity are consumed than for production using adsorption technology.

Compressor design and operating principle

Compressors are divided into dynamic and positive displacement: the former use moving elements to change pressure, the latter use a piston or rotor to compress gas.
The most popular types are piston and screw. Piston are universal, work due to the reciprocating motion of the piston.
Screw are suitable for intensive use, compress air thanks to two rotating screws.
