Features of Oxygen Generators

Applications of Oxygen

Gaseous oxygen obtained by the PSA method (Pressure Swing Adsorption) in close proximity to the place of use is a more cost-effective and safer alternative to using oxygen cylinders and liquid (cryogenic) oxygen. It is widely used in the following areas:

• Medicine. Oxygen stations, which have all the necessary certifications, are connected directly to the centralized system of distribution, storage, and supply of oxygen for patients in medical facilities. They can be installed both inside hospital premises and outside thanks to containerized design.
• Glass production. In the glass industry, oxygen is used to ensure high combustion temperatures in furnaces, for glass polishing, and to reduce solid waste in furnaces and nitrogen oxides.
• Wastewater treatment. Wastewater treatment systems using oxygen significantly reduce the period of bacterial growth and activate biological purification processes. This process is maintained even in hot weather conditions when oxygen levels in water are low and consumption is high.
• Fish farming. Enriching water with oxygen ensures faster and more stable fish growth in freshwater and marine farms, increasing their productivity.
• Ozone production. Gaseous oxygen is necessary for producing gaseous ozone. Some ozone generators still produce this gas from compressed air. However, when gaseous oxygen is used instead of compressed air, the efficiency of the ozone generator increases significantly, and the risk of HNO3 formation is reduced.
• Metal cutting and welding. Oxygen is used for laser cutting of certain types of metal to ensure localized oxidation with heat release and melting. This allows faster cutting and processing of thicker metal sheets compared to using nitrogen. In gas welding and cutting with acetylene, oxygen is supplied to the torch, ensuring complete combustion of the gas.
• Metallurgy. In metallurgy, oxygen is widely used to increase the melting temperature of steel in furnaces and is also used in the smelting of non-ferrous metals.
• Chemical industry. Oxygen is used for oxidation reactions and the production of various reagents, acids, and chemical compounds.
