Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine is a distributor and certified service partner of Hiconics Technology CO. Ltd in Ukraine, is engaged in the supply and implementation of high-voltage frequency converters of the HIVERT series. High-voltage frequency converters (hereinafter referred to as HVFCs) are designed for soft start/stop and frequency regulation of three-phase high-voltage synchronous and induction motors with power from 150 to 20,000 kW with voltage of 3.3, 6, 10 kV.

The proposed HLPs meet modern technical requirements and have the following characteristic features:

  • conversion is carried out according to the AC-DC-AC formula with one transformer;
  • the inverter scheme is instantaneous with pulse width modulation (PWM), depending on the voltage and motor type, there are from 3 to 6 single-phase inverters per phase;
  • power units are controlled and monitored via fiber optic cable;
  • The circuitry of the VPL fully complies with the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) indicators of GOST 13109-97. Electrical energy. Electromagnetic compatibility of technical means. Standards of quality of electric energy in general-purpose power supply systems), and also complies with international standards IEC 868, IEC 1000-3-2, IEC 1000-3-3, IEC 1000-4-1 and publications IEC 1000-2-1, IEC 1000-2-2 in terms of levels of electromagnetic compatibility in power supply systems and methods of measuring electromagnetic interference. HPV does not require an input and output electrical filter;
  • visualization of the HPV operation is made in the form of an ergonomic touchscreen graphic terminal with a diagonal of 10″, the menu is in Russian.

The structure and principle of HPV

The HPV is structurally a cascade converter consisting of single-phase converters connected in series to form a group. Each group is connected to a common point, thereby forming a three-phase high voltage converter. The circuitry of each single-phase converter is a typical PWM inverter with a DC link, differing only in the power of power semiconductor devices (SPDs), diode and transistor (IGBT) potential-free modules. This circuitry significantly reduces the level of pulsations at the output of the SPP and maximizes the output voltage/current waveform to a sinusoidal one, ensuring reliable and stable operation of the converter with the motor.

The R.S.T. input circuits of the power units are connected to the secondary windings of a three-phase power transformer. The unit is controlled and monitored via fiber optic cable. In case of failure of one of the units, the inverter is optionally equipped with a bypass function. When the bypass is enabled, the rated output voltage of the frequency converter is reduced. If the HPI operates at a frequency of at least 40 Hz, it automatically increases the output voltage of the operating power units to optimize the uninterrupted operation of the HPI.

  • no negative impact of the impulse voltage/current on the insulation of the motor and its supply cable (dU/dt effect) and, as a result, preservation of operating conditions.

The design of the HPV

Structurally, the VPL consists of cabinets with equipment placed in them:

  • Transformer cabinet with temperature control unit;
  • Inverter cabinet;
  • Control cabinet;
  • Soft start cabinet (for surge protectors with current above 600A or optionally for lower power)
  • Output current-limiting choke cabinet (optional). It is installed when the length of the motor cable is more than 500 m and/or when the motor is switched continuously to the mains and back
  • Bypass (bypass) high-voltage cell (optional).
  • Control system UPS and bypass cells (optional).
  • Liquid cooling system cabinet and chiller (for liquid-cooled HPC).

The transformer cabinet has a built-in dry high-voltage transformer with a forced cooling system and temperature indicator. The inverter cabinet contains the inverter power units. The soft start cabinet is a rheostat starter that is connected through an additional secondary three-phase winding of 0.4kV of the main power transformer.

Compressor design and operating principle

Compressors are divided into dynamic and positive displacement: the former use moving elements to change pressure, the latter use a piston or rotor to compress gas.
The most popular types are piston and screw. Piston are universal, work due to the reciprocating motion of the piston.
Screw are suitable for intensive use, compress air thanks to two rotating screws.
