BackHiconics high-voltage frequency converters for controlling the performance of coke oven gas injectors at Zaporizhkoks PrJSC
In 2019, PJSC Zaporizhstal held a tender for turnkey implementation of an automated process control system based on a high-voltage frequency converter at Zaporizhkoks to regulate the performance of coke oven gas injectors. As part of the project, the frequency drive is to regulate squirrel-cage induction motors with a capacity of 1250 kW and a voltage of 6 kV.
After reviewing all the bidders’ proposals, the winner, Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine LLC, was selected based on quality and price characteristics, service conditions and warranty obligations. The offer included an HPV HIVERT-Y/T 06 05/154 manufactured by HICONICS.
The specialists of Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine LLC performed design work, equipment supply, and construction and installation work. In addition, visualization was prepared with subsequent integration into the metallurgical plant’s process control system. To install the new equipment, the recovery shop was overhauled with external and internal finishing works, ventilation with an air conditioning system was installed, and new LED lighting was installed.
The main goals of this work were to modernize electrical equipment, accurately maintain the set discharge before the gas blower, avoid throttling, save energy, increase the service life of gas blower units, and reduce the human factor.
The implemented technical solutions fully meet the requirements and objectives of the customer, which was confirmed by tests after the project was completed.
At this stage of operation, the HIVERT-Y/T 06 05/154 frequency converter has proven to be a reliable energy-efficient device for regulating a 6 kV high-voltage motor.
