Dosing pumps for Ukrgasvydobuvannya

In the middle of last year, Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine launched a joint project with UkrGasVydobuvannya to equip a gas field in Shebelinka village, Kharkiv region, with pumps. At the moment, the project has been fully completed, and UkrGasVydobuvannya has received the declared number of French diaphragm-type metering pumps from Milton Roy.

“Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine was able to deliver the necessary equipment to ensure gas production in the Kharkiv region in a timely manner, as well as provide a guarantee for its long-term operation and all the necessary advice on the installation and maintenance of these units.

After studying the requirements stated by the customer, our specialists settled on the products of the French company Milton Roy: PL149P18M250/9.CZ.VV1.Z and PN149U16MX560/9.CZ.VV7.Z.

The supplied equipment is used to clean the well from hydrates generated during gas production. As they settle on the bottom and walls of the well, gas components such as methane, ethane, propane, isobutane, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and hydrogen sulfide react with water. As a result, solid crystal structures are formed – white crystals. Accumulating hydrates significantly reduce well throughput, which in turn can lead to an accident and production shutdown.

Milton Roy pumps are used to inject methanol into the bottomhole zone of gas hydrate wells, causing not only the decomposition of gas hydrates at the bottomhole, but also improving the filtration characteristics of the bottomhole zone. When aqueous surfactant solutions are injected into gas wells (to remove water from the bottomhole), methanol is also added to the solutions to prevent freezing. The high absorption capacity of methanol is used to remove water after hydrostatic testing of gas pipelines, as well as in low-temperature processes for purifying natural and synthetic gases from CO2, H2S and other sulfur-containing organic compounds.

Thanks to the technical characteristics of the pumps supplied to UkrGasVydobuvannya, the volume of gas production increased by an average of 25%, while the time for its production was reduced. All pumps are hydraulically driven, with two-layer membranes – main and additional – ensuring their uninterrupted operation.
The pump can continue to operate even if the main diaphragm fails, allowing the cycle to be completed. The control unit and numerous sensors, including a pressure gauge that monitors the integrity of the main diaphragm and the pressure level in the pipeline, ensure that the equipment is in good working order.

The pumps are equipped with an integrated safety valve to protect the pump from overloads. The design of the hydraulic part of the pump provides for the correct positioning of the diaphragm after the pump stops.
