The atmosphere of rolling stock is changing with DALGAKIRAN

Dalgakiran started its business as a reciprocating compressor manufacturer in 1965. Nowadays, DALGAKIRAN aims to meet the needs of rolling stock manufacturers by producing custom-made RSC series railway system compressors, which have recently been added to the product range.Urbanization and population density in megacities is increasing in parallel with the growth of the world population. As a result, business strategies for public and freight transportation are being projected onto increasingly efficient and environmentally friendly rail systems, along with increasing political and economic motivation.

The global rail freight market, which according to UNIFEM’s World Rail Market Study 2012 amounted to 146 billion euros in the period 2009-2011, grew by 3.4% compared to the period 2007-2009. South America (7.0%), Africa and the Middle East (8.1%) are the regions with the fastest growing markets. As shown in the figure, the rolling stock industry is worth almost €48 billion (33% of the total market).

An air compressor is one of the most important pieces of equipment in the rolling stock industry. Compressed air is essential for the operation of pneumatic structures, automatic doors, braking systems and rolling stock suspension systems. These systems determine the reliability and comfort of the train, so choosing a high-quality air compressor is very important for rolling stock manufacturers.

DESIGN CREATED ACCORDING TO THE CLIENT’S NEEDS

The RSC 4, the first model of DALGAKIRAN’s RSC series of railroad compressors, was presented at the 2013 Hannover Messe. Due to its compact design and construction, the RCS series allows for quick assembly at the bottom or top of the rolling stock. The RCS series, which consists of a compressor cylinder, oil filter, water separator, modular air dryer and combined aluminum radiator, is able to provide pneumatic systems with dry and clean air in the required volume without interruption. The electrostatic coating, stainless steel components and galvanized pipes prevent corrosion of the RCS series compressors, which ensures energy-saving, efficient and economical operation with start and stop control. In addition, the unit is protected from external influences such as vibration, dirt and dust thanks to a special casing design that also ensures very low noise levels.
