10 years of success: from service engineer to CTO

On June 9, 2016, Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine celebrates a significant date – it is exactly 10 years since the future technical director, Andrey Berezin, started his career with the company.

Andriy graduated from the Kharkiv National Aerospace University named after N.E. Zhukovsky, where he studied aircraft engines and power plants. The choice of university and specialty was a consequence of the fact that since childhood Andrii dreamed of ships and airplanes. If the desire for the sky was embodied in the choice of specialty, then the love for the water element was realized in water-motor sports, where Andriy achieved significant success. It was this passion that became his lifelong hobby.

After graduating from university, Andriy worked for some time as a designer at the Kharkiv-based production and commercial enterprise ERSIT, designing equipment for drying and cleaning compressed air. Although the work was satisfying, it lacked scope and prospects for developing the skills of a highly qualified technical specialist.

His work at Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine began when, on the recommendation of a colleague who had taken a job at the Moscow office of Dalgakiran, Andrey sent his resume for a vacancy for a service engineer. And so, in June 2006, when he was hired by the company, Andrey began to realize the organization’s ambitious goal of becoming the No. 1 service department in Ukraine for compressor equipment maintenance. With the development of the company’s product range in the direction of technologically sophisticated solutions for compressed air treatment, gas separation, backup power supply, pumping of various liquids and media and industrial cooling, the service department of Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine also developed.

For the past 10 years, since taking up the position of service engineer, Andriy has been carefully and purposefully creating and establishing a clear service mechanism. Given the variety of equipment sold, he sometimes had to solve almost impossible tasks: “linking” suppliers of various components, coordinating the work of service centers, and maintaining a reputation as a reliable and competent partner in customer relations under any circumstances.

A decade is a milestone in the development of the company and in the life of Andrey Berezin himself. During this time, he has worked his way up from an engineer to CTO, proving himself to be a truly passionate and talented specialist. But since the first time we talked to him, Andrey has become one of the pillars on which the company is growing. Not only did he build the company’s service department, he trained a number of good engineers who are now part of his team.

While working with Andriy, I realized the following. This is a person whose abilities and capabilities should be properly utilized to achieve maximum results. You need clarity and specificity in explaining a problem or issue, without unnecessary text, and then, believe me, he will help you solve the most non-standard tasks. If we compare people by their characteristics, for example, with weapons, Andriy Berezin is most likely a sniper rifle. No unnecessary shots, no “watering down” with bursts, no fuss. Your only task is to point out exactly where to shoot. Of course, there are misfires, as there are no exceptions. But in general, this is definitely a very necessary and to some extent irreplaceable person in our company, highly qualified and certainly a talented “technician”.

I have known Andrey Berezin for many years. He is an experienced engineer and a competent “technician”, as they say, from drawing to realization of an idea with his own hands. I am sure this is a valuable acquisition for the company.

I don’t think it’s worth talking about all his personal qualities, as it is often a subjective opinion, but there is one hobby that will definitely be appreciated by everyone – water sports. I won’t list all the titles and regalia, especially since I don’t know them all myself, but I will say that this is his life’s hobby, and even in retirement, I think Andrey will continue to “race”. In addition, by his example, he has drawn in his colleague Alexander Fedorenko, who is also making progress in this field.

But the main thing is different. A team of athletes is all about cohesion and friendship, and they are ready to help out whenever and wherever they can. As the saying goes, “perish the thought, but help a friend.” This is the moment that impresses me the most, when friendship and cohesion come first.

I wish Andriy to achieve new successes, not to slow down and move forward! There is no limit to perfection!
