Marganets GOK is the only underground manganese mining enterprise in Ukraine and the CIS. The plant’s 7 mines producing manganese ore account for up to 80% of total production. The enterprise is one of the largest suppliers of manganese raw materials in the CIS and fully meets the demand for manganese concentrate of ferroalloy and metallurgical plants in Ukraine. The manganese ore deposit was first discovered in 1883 and active development began in 1985.

In a mine without dampness

By the time the plant’s mines needed to replace equipment that had reached the end of its useful life, its previous pneumatic systems no longer met the needs of underground workings, either in terms of compressed air volume, quality or energy consumption.

Dry means reliable

The DVK150 and DVK220 rotary screw compressors deliver high performance at low operating costs. They feature an efficient and durable separator design and three-level filtration, which allows for high quality air with a residual oil content of 2 milligrams per cubic meter.

Dry air avoids internal corrosion of working units and pipelines, protects against compressed air leakage and, as a result, increased energy consumption, prevents the formation of an oil layer on the internal surfaces of pneumatic tools, which reduces wear on rubbing parts. The dried air avoids deterioration of technical characteristics, shortening of service life and failure of technological equipment.

The industrial air dryers used in the mines of Marganets Iron and Steel Works employ an advanced technology that ensures condensate removal as soon as it forms along the entire length of the cooling circuit.
