Diesel generator for backup of the Simada pig farm

Pork production is one of the main areas of national agricultural production in Ukraine. To ensure productive and efficient operation, modern pig farms are equipped with a range of automated equipment, from elevators and feed lines to meat processing and packaging lines. One of the main conditions for the stable operation of this equipment and the pig farm as a whole is an uninterrupted supply of electricity.

In August 2021, the management of the Simada pig farm found itself in a difficult situation: a newly purchased power plant (from a competitor) failed after 17 hours of operation. After diagnostics, it turned out that the engine needed to be overhauled.

In this case, the owner of the enterprise found himself in a difficult situation, because the pig farm is a farm that cannot be left without a backup source of energy supply. The decision had to be made quickly. The nominal capacity of the required power plant was 250 kW. Since there was no such power plant in stock at that time, our company provided prompt delivery and connection of a rental diesel generator for temporary backup of the pig farm until the actual delivery of a new diesel power plant – DALGAKIRAN DJ 350 BD.

This model of diesel generator station in a noise-absorbing all-weather casing is based on a Baudouin engine (France) and a Crompton Graves alternator (India). The rated power in the constant mode of operation is 256 kW (320 kVA), in the standby mode – 280 kW (350 kVA). Fuel consumption is quite low for such power (53.3 liters per hour at 75% load) and the 385-liter fuel tank allows the power plant to operate for more than 7 hours without refueling. And in case of prolonged power outages and accidents in the power grid, DALGAKIRAN DJ 350 BD is able to operate around the clock thanks to the high quality of the engine, which has been proven in many Ukrainian enterprises.

Technical specialists of Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine successfully delivered, installed and connected the equipment, carried out commissioning and training of the Customer’s personnel in the operation of the power plant.

Due to the location of the Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine service unit (Horishni Plavni, Poltava region) in close proximity to the pig farm (Opishnya village, Poltava region), the customer can be sure of the uninterrupted operation of the equipment and its timely maintenance.
