DALGAKIRAN diesel generators with a synchronization system for redundancy of the logistics complex

Dragon Capital is one of the largest investment companies in Ukraine. Today, up to ⅓ of the trades on the UX (Ukrainian Exchange) are made with the participation of Dragon Capital’s brokerage department. For 22 years, the company has become the largest player in the Ukrainian market not only in brokerage services but also in direct investment. Dragon Capital’s assets include commercial real estate with an area of over 600 thousand square meters. One of these properties is the largest logistics center Arktika.

Arktika is a Class A business center and owns the property:

• with a total area of 21,500 square meters;
• an autonomous heating, ventilation and air conditioning system (for temperature control);
• fire alarm and automatic fire extinguishing system;
• security alarm system, video surveillance;
• Office infrastructure with an accounting and access control system, network communications.

To ensure uninterrupted power supply of such a complex, a technical solution of the appropriate scale and class is required. This is exactly the solution that Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine specialists were able to offer the customer.

Technical solution

Two DALGAKIRAN DJ818BD diesel power plants with a rated capacity of 818 kVA each, with a synchronization system and automatic transfer switch were supplied to back up the logistics complex.

Taking into account the customer’s wish to provide the potential for increasing capacity in the future, a street synchronization board was installed with the ability to synchronize 3 stations of 818 kVA each with a protection system.

Also, two 2000 A rated grid-to-grid ATSs and four 1600 A rated grid-to-generator ATSs were installed.

The redundancy scheme is designed to ensure that all 4 grid-generator ATSs and a selected grid-generator ATS can deliver full power. This redundancy system is as flexible as possible, allowing for both seasonal and daily consumption peaks. It was also developed taking into account the starting currents of industrial refrigeration equipment with direct start.

The DJ818BD diesel generators are equipped with Baudouin (France) engines and Leroy Somer (France) alternators, which guarantees the customer high reliability. The all-weather noise-absorbing enclosure allowed the installation of the diesel generators in the open air without incurring additional costs for the construction of a building for their placement.
