Construction of the Tiligul wind farm started in March this year and its first phase is currently at the final stage. Tiligul Wind Farm is part of DTEK Group’s New Strategy 2030 program and is one of the important steps towards DTEK’s goal of achieving zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2040 and Ukraine’s contribution to the European Green Deal program.

EnVentus wind turbines are capable of demonstrating high efficiency in generating electricity in low to medium wind conditions. Each turbine has a capacity of 6 MW, which is 25% higher than the previous generation models. This is the latest development of Vestas Northern & Central Europe (Denmark), which went into production in 2021. The EnVentus has an onshore rotor with a diameter of 162 meters, making it the largest turbine of its class produced by Vestas. The Tiligul wind farm will be one of the first in the world and the first in Eastern Europe to use this equipment.

The first stage of the new power plant will have a capacity of 126 MW (21 turbines). In the future, it is planned to increase the total generation capacity to 564 MW. DTEK estimates that carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced by up to 504,000 tons per year.

One of the essential elements of any power plant is a diesel generator to provide backup power for the substation that meets its own needs. Among other things, it supplies power to the control room, fire extinguishing system with a pumping station, fire station and administrative and utility facilities. The diesel generator set must meet high reliability requirements and be provided with high-quality and timely maintenance.

The supply of such a diesel generator set was provided by Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine. Based on the customer’s technical specifications, the DALGAKIRAN DJ580DD diesel power plant was offered. It is based on an engine from DOOSAN (South Korea), a leader in the production of diesel engines for power plants in the Asian region. Its standby power is 464 kW, and the main power is 420.8 kW. The 3000-liter tank allows the power plant to operate continuously for 36 hours. The diesel generator has a GSM module for remote monitoring and control under any conditions. In the event of an emergency and loss of voltage, the DJ580DD starts automatically, acting as a backup power supply for all systems necessary for the facility’s operation.

Dalgakiran is pleased to join the implementation of such projects. After all, the commissioning of new wind farms not only improves the environmental situation, but also increases Ukraine’s energy security and creates new jobs.
