DALGAKIRAN diesel generator for backup power supply of a lyceum and kindergarten

In 2016, the Sofia educational complex opened its doors in the Kyiv-Svyatoshynskyi district of Kyiv. The two spacious buildings house a lyceum school with 660 students and a kindergarten for 150 children. The educational complex “Sofia” is equipped with modern equipment, comfortable furniture, sports and playgrounds and recreation areas. All this creates an atmosphere of maximum comfort, home-like coziness and opens up wide opportunities for children’s development.
The management of NPK decided to purchase a diesel generator set to provide backup power supply in case of sudden power outages due to an accident, overload or other emergency.
After familiarizing ourselves with the facility and the customer’s requirements, DALGAKIRAN technical specialists implemented a project for the supply, installation and commissioning of a Dalgakiran DJ262BD diesel generator. The heart of the generator is a BAUDOUIN diesel engine (France), which is characterized by high reliability and efficiency.
The reserve capacity of the power plant is 262 kVA (210 kW), the engine displacement is 9,726 liters, and the fuel tank capacity is 385 liters, which ensures a long autonomous period of operation (more than 10 hours at 75% load).
The high-strength protective casing guarantees high-quality noise insulation, which is especially important for childcare facilities. The noise level at a distance of 1 meter is 75 dB(A). Thus, an outdoor generator will not interfere with the educational process at school.
An additional advantage of the diesel generator is its ease of operation. In operating mode, it does not require the presence of an operator – the system automatically turns on the unit when the voltage in the mains drops, and protective mechanisms ensure emergency shutdown in case of an emergency.
Within the framework of the project, DALGAKIRAN has completed:
- preparatory work, including excavation, cable laying, foundation and grounding;
- installation and connection of the power plant to the grid;
- load testing.
Today, the diesel generator from Dalgakiran allows for continuous operation of the autonomous heating, lighting and equipment system of the educational institution. The service department, in turn, ensures long-term and stable operation through regular maintenance of the power plant.
