DALGAKIRAN block compressor station for Darnytska TPP

Thanks to its reputation as a reliable supplier of compressor equipment in the Ukrainian market, Dalgakiran was awarded the right to supply a DALGAKIRAN compressor station to Darnytska CHP (Kyiv) as part of a project to build a complex of filters for cleaning gases emitted into the atmosphere.

Currently, Darnytska CHPP, one of the main producers of heat and electricity in Kyiv, is forced to switch to solid fuels, which makes it urgent to reduce emissions and improve the environmental situation in the area of the capital’s left bank. Compressed air supply systems are one of the main factors determining the efficiency and productivity of filter systems, because compressed air is one of the most expensive energy carriers, and the energy consumption of bag filters directly depends on the correct choice of compressor equipment.

The purpose of the BCS supplied to Darnytska TPP is to produce purified and dry compressed air with a dew point of -40°C, which does not require the constant presence of maintenance personnel. The compressor equipment is installed inside a special all-weather container installed on an open surface; the BCS can be operated at ambient temperatures ranging from -30°C to +40°C (other solutions are possible if the parameters change); the container can be equipped with additional life support systems.

According to the Customer’s requirements for the compressed air produced, the following main elements were selected for the BCS:

• DALGAKIRAN DVK-270D screw compressor with a capacity of 37 mS/min, a maximum pressure of 7.5 bar(s) and an electric motor power of 200 kW.
• Refrigerated dehumidifier DRYAIR DK 160 with a dew point of +3°C.
• Adsorption dehumidifier DRYAIR DA 2700 with a dew point of -40°C.
• Station control panel with controller.

To maintain the temperature inside the BCS during the cold season, wall convectors were installed inside the container. The convectors are switched on and off automatically using standard thermostats with the possibility of manual control. The station is equipped with an internal lighting system (main and backup), as well as an external one that meets the requirements of BNiP 23-05.

One of the most important components of cooperation between Darnytska TPP and Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine LLC is the quality and reliability of the supplied BCS and all its elements in the delivery set, as the installed equipment is designed for continuous year-round and round-the-clock operation, and the slightest deviation from the norm of any of the components of the compressor station (pressure drop, increase in the dew point in the system, etc.) inevitably creates the risk of its emergency shutdown. Important in choosing Dalgakiran as a supplier of compressor equipment is well-organized warranty and post-warranty maintenance, which is carried out 24 hours a day, the possibility of building long-term partnerships on a mutually beneficial basis, the optimal cost of equipment, as well as the short time frame for its delivery and commissioning.
