Cummins diesel generator for backup power supply at home

If you own a country house 40 km away from the county seat of Kharkiv, you should always be prepared for possible power outages.
Our customer decided to approach such realities very responsibly and decided to purchase a diesel generator station for backup power supply of his house.
At the same time, the Customer voiced the highest requirements: readiness to operate stably both in standby and in continuous mode; at temperatures from -25 to +50 °C, withstand short circuits up to 153 A, the Supplier’s warranty obligations, as well as the availability of a service department in Kharkiv.
The only right choice in this case was to choose a Cummins C38D5 power plant in a noise-absorbing all-weather casing with an ATS (automatic transfer switch).
By the way, Cummins is a world leader in the development and production of pre-integrated generator sets from 8 to 3,300 kVA with a turnover of about $3.5 billion per year.
All major components: engine, alternator, switches and control systems are designed and manufactured by Cummins.
Despite the rather high price (this is a representative of the premium segment in the line of stations we offer), the customer was unwavering in his choice.
This station is based on a Cummins engine (UK) and a Stamford alternator (UK). The nominal power in constant operation is 28 kW (35 kVA), in standby mode – 30.4 kW (38 kVA). Fuel consumption ranges from 4.5 to 9.0 l/h at 50% and 100% load, respectively. With a tank volume of 175 liters, the operating time without refueling can vary from 19 to 38 hours, depending on the load. And most importantly, this station can operate in a constant mode around the clock for a long time.
The Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine service department delivered, installed and connected the equipment. The service engineer successfully carried out commissioning and training of the Customer’s personnel in the safe operation of the diesel generator power plant.
