Block compressor station for Yablunivske gas field

To improve gas production at depleted fields, Ukrgasvydobuvannya (Naftogaz Group) is reconstructing compressor stations to ensure the highest possible level of gas pumping. After the next reconstruction, Yablunivske field was able to increase daily gas production by 100 thousandm3.
Since 1983, more than 60 billion meters have been extracted from the Yablunivske field3 sup> gas and is currently considered depleted. However, the estimated remaining reserves are about 30% of the original reserves, and the use of new equipment has allowed the company to move from a decline to an increase in gas production by 18% over the past 4 years.
Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine, together with its partner Tekhpromservice LTD, took part in the reconstruction project by supplying a BCS-474/1.3 UHL1 block compressor station. This station is designed to produce purified and dehumidified compressed air in a continuous mode, which is used in the technological process of stabilizing and reducing wellhead pressures at the field’s wells. Depending on the current demand, the capacity of the BCS is regulated by frequency converters used in screw compressors and ranges from 123 to 474m3/min of treated compressed air.
Compressed air production is provided by two DALGAKIRAN Inversys 75 Plus screw compressors equipped with frequency control, cyclone separators, a cold start system and a local control system. DALGAKIRAN refrigeration dehumidifiers of the DK series (dew point +3°C) and adsorption dehumidifiers of the DA series (dew point -40°C) with built-in filters and local control are used for air purification and drying.
The block compressor station is designed for efficient operation at a wide temperature range – from -38 °C to +37 °C. The equipment of the station is mounted in an insulated block container, which is equipped with ventilation, heating, lighting, fire alarm and alarm transmission systems that ensure the nominal operation of the BCS in the specified climatic conditions, safety of operation and ease of maintenance. All the equipment inside the block container is interconnected by piping and cable strapping.
The design of the BCS provides for redundancy of the main equipment. The station’s automatic control system (ACS) allows the equipment to be operated without the constant presence of maintenance personnel. Information about the BCS operation is displayed both on the station controller display and on the remote operator’s desktop at the field.
