Application of Dalgakiran chillers in the production of plastic pipes by the Dnipro-based company Formula

Polyethylene pipes for gas and water pipelines, as well as modern insulation material – polystyrene sheets – the main products of Formula’s production, are made from a material with unique physical and functional characteristics. It is also known as a crystalline polymer, and all the starting materials are of organic origin.

Smooth polymerization

Polyethylene structure features make it possible to produce pipes with low steam and gas capacity. In addition, the high resistance of polyethylene pipes to chemically aggressive substances, such as hydrochloric, carbolic and hydrofluoric acids, alkalis, oil, gasoline and organic solvents, contributes to the increased demand for Formula’s pipe products.

The polymerization of ethylene, which is used to make the new generation of gas pipes, requires strict adherence to the technology: the product must cool smoothly, without jumps, but with a variable cooling rate.

To eliminate the possibility of a complex process failure due to human error, a fully automated cooling system was required. The best equipment to meet the high reliability requirements was the Dalgakiran refrigeration system, which is supplied by Dalgakiran in Ukraine.

Economical cold

The two Dalgakiran chillers of the EBHV series, which serve the plastic pipe and polystyrene sheet production line, are powerful units that run on ozone-friendly Freon. The total cooling capacity reaches more than 700 kW. Adjustable compressor performance and a microprocessor control system allow the liquid cooler to control the operation, adjusting the operating parameters to the required ones.

Among the advantages of Dalgakiran chillers, customers noted economical energy consumption. Another Dalgakiran unit belongs to the Pakcold series, which was specially developed for use in the production of polystyrene sheet.

Its power is slightly lower – up to 100 kW. But the high-capacity pump and accumulator tank as part of the built-in hydraulic module provide the most efficient cooling and circulation of the coolant. Nevertheless, the main advantages of water coolers supplied by Dalgakiran to Ukraine are the quality of workmanship and high reliability of the equipment.
