Turbocompressors are the state-of-the-art in the industrial air and gas compressor segment. We are proud that these high-performance units are manufactured in Japan and then completed with additional equipment at the IHI-Dalgakıran plant in Turkey and shipped to the customer.
IHI-Dalgakiran’s centrifugal compressors are superior to similar equipment from other manufacturers in terms of their technical characteristics, and their energy efficiency ensures a shorter payback period than the industry average.
A turbocharger is a type of compressor in which the kinetic energy gained by air or gas through the centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the impeller is converted into pressure energy in a diffuser by reducing the air flow channel. Before entering the next stage, the compressed air is cooled on a heat exchanger with high efficiency. As a result of the use of several compression stages, the compressors are highly efficient.
General characteristics of IHI-DALGAKIRAN centrifugal compressors
Durable housing
The compressor and cooler casing is a single cast iron unit, which ensures compactness and robustness of the structure. The compressor flow path and the heat exchanger area are separated by a cast thick wall, which provides effective noise reduction. In addition, the unique design of the casing has reduced pressure losses and water losses in the compressed air system at the joints.
Impellers made of titanium
The impellers developed by IHI-Dalgakıran, thanks to its extensive experience in this field, as well as the use of gas-dynamic calculation and three-dimensional design methods, guarantee the customer the highest performance and a wide range of performance characteristics. The use of titanium impellers (except for the TRX model) guarantees the absence of such problems as wear and corrosion.
Diffusers
The velocity energy transferred to the air by the rotation of the impellers is efficiently converted into pressure energy by the diffusers. The gas-dynamic calculation method allows the analysis of diffusers and impellers in a complex, which ensures minimal air turbulence and therefore minimal noise during turbocharger operation.
IGV – inlet guide rail
The IGV allows you to adjust the inlet air flow depending on the air flow rate, and it also increases productivity because the air intake and impeller rotation occur in the same direction.
Self-aligning rolling bearings

Reliable and efficient operation of high-speed shafts is ensured by the use of these bearings with a horizontal connector. Since these bearings do not have direct contact with the shaft during operation, they do not have routine wear, which significantly increases their service life.
Labyrinth seals
The air and oil seals are of the labyrinth type and do not come into contact with the rotor. As a result, there is no abrasion and no need for periodic replacement.
Impellers
Impellers made of titanium and stainless steel are more resistant to corrosion and mechanical wear. As a result, they do not require periodic replacement, which reduces maintenance costs. Using our vast production experience, we select the optimal design of impellers developed in accordance with the customer’s requirements for performance and pressure, which ensures maximum efficiency.
Cooling system
The ability of compressors to operate at maximum efficiency throughout their entire service life directly depends on the operation of the cooling system. All centrifugal compressors manufactured by IHI-Dalgakıran use straight-tube coolers with copper tubes and copper plates. This ensures high cooling efficiency and a long service life of the turbocharger.
Suction filter
The cassette-type filter elements used in the suction filter have a large filtration area, which ensures a long service life and easy maintenance.
Control panel
The control panel’s easy-to-read graphical display allows you to monitor the main parameters, status and operating modes of the turbocharger. The panel provides a graphical interface that allows the user to observe key trends to maintain optimal operation and schedule maintenance procedures.
In the event of an alarm or error, all values measured by the controller are stored in its memory. This ensures that alarms and errors can be quickly identified and eliminated. In the event of an error, the operator can see the fault and possible preventive measures on the control panel display.
