In both the first and second cases, it is very important to ensure the redundancy of the cooling supply, which in turn ensures the continuity of the production process. Namely, when choosing a hydraulic cooling scheme and selecting a chiller, you need to take into account the power reserve. If you have an individual cooling system, then by looping a nearby chiller, you can continue working until the scheduled maintenance of the refrigeration machine is completed. However, if the production facility has a centralized cooling system, it is advisable to use a multi-circuit chiller, which makes it possible not to stop the production completely, but only partially, and to carry out scheduled maintenance only of the stopped chiller circuit.
Not all producers want to incur capital expenditures for the reserve, and in addition, they consider the increased electricity costs. However, modern refrigeration machines are equipped with an option that allows you to consume electrical energy depending on the load on the refrigeration machine, which in turn does not lead to energy overruns due to the reserve in cooling capacity.
Despite the fact that the chiller is a peripheral equipment and is not very scrupulously selected, the chiller plays a significant role in the production of high-quality final products. You can buy a perfect high-quality production line, but save on peripheral cooling, and the quality of the products produced will not meet the expected results and the capital investment in the production line.
