About the friendly DALGAKIRAN team or how an instrument found a performer

In the Soviet past, people used to talk about such cases with pomp and circumstance, saying that the award had found the hero. In this case, it was not an award at all, and Andriy Gnatyshyn, a modest service engineer at the Western branch of Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine, does not consider himself a hero, but simply proved himself to be a cheerful company guy with excellent musical taste at an unofficial part of the corporate party.

I’m just an ordinary guy…

Let’s start from the very beginning. Andriy, a native of Lviv, graduated from the Lviv Commercial Academy in 2011 with a degree in accounting and auditing, which has nothing to do with engineering or music. And Andriy’s first job was from a completely different opera. After the Academy, he got a job in the repair department of the Mist-Express transportation company. But, as the hero himself says, it was the knowledge he gained in this area that helped him in the future, and of course, his friends. Volodymyr Pozdnyakov and Yevhen Malikov have been working in the service department of the Lviv branch of Dalgakiran for a long time. They advised Andriy to apply for a job there a year ago. And why not? He already had knowledge and experience in the engineering field. He managed to pass the interviews and exams relatively easily. And by the summer of 2019, Andriy had been working side by side with service engineers in Lviv for a year.

Music as a hobby

A hobby is always a part of a person’s soul. For Andriy Hnatyshyn, it was music. The first chords were learned and played on a guitar borrowed from family friends back in 2006, and then Andriy saved up to buy his first old guitar. Andriy managed to combine his studies at the Academy with his musical studies quite successfully. Moreover, his friends supported his hobby. Together with them, since 2013, Andriy has been actively participating in “music Saturdays” in various pubs in Lviv. From bardic songs to classic rock, from Ukrainian pop to modern pop music, the repertoire grew, the locations changed, but the tradition remained the same. It is not surprising that when Andriy received an invitation to the Dalgakiran corporate party in the summer, he decided to bring his guitar after much thought. And this idea, as it turned out, was very successful.

When the soul sings

During two wonderful days, an incredible number of songs were performed and sung in the company of interesting, extraordinary and cheerful colleagues from all regions of Ukraine. Andriy knew some of them by heart, others he picked up on the fly… His soul was singing, but his guitar sometimes let him down with some false notes. Well, what can you expect from an inexpensive “old lady”.

The technical director, Andriy Berezin, decided to remedy the situation. In the evening, at a regular get-together, he promised the engineer a gift of a new guitar. And he kept his promise – just a couple of weeks later, a brand new instrument with perfect fretting was handed over to Andriy Hnatyshyn. As the donor jokingly put it, it was for new achievements in the field of music. And his colleagues even got a little bored in anticipation of a new corporate party and new songs…
