Twins of Zaporizhzhia

Last year, a unique hotel and business center, Khortytsia Palace, appeared in Zaporizhzhia. Two 17-story towers connected by an openwork bridge rise in the heart of the city. The technical data of the complex is impressive – the total area is 19,200 m², of which 5,700 m² are office space, the four-star hotel occupies 10,500 m², and the underground parking is located at 2,000 meters. The powerful engineering of the building includes high-speed elevators, ventilation and air conditioning systems, a heating system, its own power supply network with the possibility of connecting an autonomous power supply, and auxiliary security systems such as fire, video surveillance and smoke removal. An access control system is also provided.

“The customer demanded increased reliability of the backup power station,” recalls Sergiy Yarovoy, project manager of the diesel generator department. – “We installed the diesel generator on a reliable Doosan-Daewoo industrial diesel engine. The unit itself weighing more than 6 tons is placed on a mobile platform.” The capacity of the installed unit is 775 kVA. Thus, two engineering tasks were solved at once: a system of reliable backup power supply for the tallest building in Zaporizhzhia was created and the possibility of moving it, for example, for maintenance, was provided.
