Mobile diesel generators for Energoatom Company

In 2016-2018, Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine won a tender and supplied mobile diesel generator sets (MDGS) for Khmelnytsky, Zaporizhzhya, Rivne and South Ukrainian NPPs. In total, 12 MDGSs were delivered for 10 power units with a total capacity of 11,000 kVA (8,800 kW). Mobile diesel generators are supplied to Energoatom as part of the implementation of post-Fukushima safety measures at nuclear power plants, and their use is envisaged in the event of an emergency partial or complete power outage at power units.

It’s no secret that at facilities such as nuclear power plants, the most stringent reliability requirements apply to the equipment used. That is why diesel generators manufactured by Cummins Power Generation, the largest manufacturer of diesel engines and stand-alone diesel generators of the highest quality, were chosen for this project. Unlike many other manufacturers, Cummins Power stations have exceptionally stable voltage and current frequency, are able to operate at a temperature of +50°C without losing power and take a full load in one step, which also indicates high reliability of the equipment.

At Khmelnytsky NPP, diesel power plants can operate individually or in synchronization mode of several plants.

Cummins C1100D5B mounted in a 40-foot noise-proof all-weather container, based on a MAZ trailer and a KRAZ off-road tractor (ZAES)

All works, starting from the preparation of technical documentation, design and installation of the MDGS, were carried out by the forces and at the production facilities of Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine LLC with the involvement of the partner company’s experts. Before shipment, each of the mobile diesel generator sets was thoroughly tested for operation in various modes and loads, including 100% load acceptance in one step.
