Gear pumps for Roshen candy production
In August 2019, Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine completed a series of deliveries of pumping equipment to Roshen, one of the largest confectionery manufacturers in Ukraine and Europe.
Roshen turned to Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine with a request to supply industrial pumping equipment for pumping a fat-lecithin mixture as part of the production of a new series of Minky-Binky candies. The high viscosity of the confectionery mixture and high safety requirements for the pumping unit in food production conditions created difficult conditions for the selection of suitable equipment. Taking into account the conditions of the production process, the requirements for the confectionery mixture and the European quality standards within which Roshen operates, the specialists of Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine chose equipment from the Turkish manufacturer Yildiz.

- 4 Yildiz YKF 2.3 kW / 100 rpm gear pumps;
- 1 Yildiz YKUF 1.1 kW 100 rpm gear pump.
The capacity of the units is up to 3m3/h and the working pressure is up to 7 bar, which guarantees pumping of the fat-lester mixture with maximum efficiency.
The principle of operation of Yildiz gear pumps
With each revolution of the shaft, a certain amount of liquid enters the pump through the suction port. This liquid fills the space between the rotor and tensioner teeth. A crescent on the pump head divides the liquid flow as it moves smoothly toward the discharge port. The drive gear, which carries the fluid between the teeth and the inner surface of the crescent, is connected to the pump cover. The rotor gear rotates directly with the pump shaft, delivering fluid to the hoses. Positive displacement is achieved by completely filling the spaces between the rotor teeth and the intermediate gears.

- high performance that does not depend on pressure;
- ability to operate at low speeds;
- adjustment of the suction and discharge mode;
- the ability to control the flow;
- silent operation.
The simple principle of operation of Yildiz pumps makes them reliable for use in difficult operating conditions and easy to maintain. The only limiting factor for the maximum performance of Yildiz pumps, as with all gear pumps, is that the pumped liquid must be relatively clean, but this factor was not a problem at Roshen’s production, so the supplied equipment fitted perfectly into the company’s technological process.
