Diesel generator for the sanatorium complex “Derenivska Kupil”

The Derenivska Kupil sanatorium complex is one of the best places for recreation and health improvement in Zakarpattia. Celebrities, government and show business representatives, VIPs, not only Ukrainian but also foreign ones, often rest here. The high level of comfort of the complex is evidenced by the fact that Paris Hilton decided to buy it and is currently modernizing and preparing for the deal.

The problem of backup power supply

A high level of comfort, quality of services and VIP guests also mean high requirements for the reliability and safety of the equipment used. In the fall of 2018, representatives of the sanatorium complex turned to our company’s specialists with a request to select and install a backup power supply. The requirements were quite high:

• Generator power is not less than 600 kW;
• A well-known and reliable brand with a representative office in Ukraine;
• Operating temperature range: -30 °C to +50 °C;
• Minimal noise level;
• High level of protection from external conditions and the ability to work outdoors;
• Stable performance regardless of external conditions;
• The ability to instantly (in one step) take over 100% of the complex’s load;
• The voltage drop in the network is no more than 5% at peak loads – starting pumps, air conditioning, heating systems, etc.

Based on these requirements, our specialists opted for a Cummins C825D5 diesel generator.

Installation and launch of a diesel power plant

The Cummins C825D5 diesel generator is a unit that is fully capable of replacing the centralized power supply even within such a large hotel complex. At the same time, it is able to take the entire load and provide maximum power within seconds after startup.

After approval and ordering, the generator was delivered to the territory of the complex and installed there. A special anti-vandal all-weather casing, in which the diesel power plant was mounted, not only protects the equipment from external influences and atmospheric phenomena, but also significantly reduces the noise level during operation, which is critical for the comfortable stay of vacationers in the resort complex.

After testing and commissioning, the power plant was put into operation in March 2019. Based on the results of the time that has passed since the start of operation, we can safely say that the diesel generator has fully justified its purpose.
