Carrier AquaEdge™ 19XR/XRV Series high-efficiency liquid chillers with hermetic centrifugal compressor with up to 11,957 kW capacity

This model of high-performance chillers has the following advantages:

• short design of the chiller casing, which significantly reduces the size of the heat exchanger and the machine room space with a noticeable reduction in refrigerant consumption and water pressure drop;
• The AquaEdge™ 19XR chiller has a cooling capacity of up to 11,957 kW, which is twice as high as pure chillers with 5000 kW;
• use of FLASC additional cooling technology to improve condensing efficiency and reduce energy consumption;
• Thanks to a two-stage compressor, the AquaEdge™ 19XR can reach water outlet temperatures as low as -6°C for fast ice creation, and its heat pump temperature can reach 65°C;
• the use of the latest 3-D improved heat transfer tubes to increase the efficiency of the heat exchanger;
• the use of a unique “double-grooved tube sheet” system that guarantees a tight bond with the heat transfer tube, which significantly reduces the risk of refrigerant leakage;
• the Carrier AdvanTE³C Chiller Plant Optimization System was implemented, further improving the efficiency of the chiller system and reducing operating costs;
• semi-hermetic compressors and hermetic design of refrigerant-cooled motors eliminate the risk of refrigerant and oil leakage from shaft seals, and prevent loss of reliability due to coupling design and costly replacement of such parts;
• a high-efficiency economizer that provides additional cooling capacity and also helps to cool the intermediate compressed gas to increase system performance;
• four sets of two safety valves on the heat exchanger, which ensure reliability in extreme operating conditions and significantly increase the ease of maintenance at the installation site;
• Freon circuit shut-off valves are located both at the inlet and outlet of the condenser, which allows the refrigerant to remain in the condenser casing during maintenance;
• use of HFC-134a refrigerant (rather than its ozone-depleting counterparts) without losing high performance;
• The AquaEdge™ 19XR water-cooled chiller is designed with optimized computational fluid dynamics modeling tools to ensure the highest degree of reliability.
