Cooling from 124.1 to 962.0 kW.

DALGAKIRAN EBHV-FC series chillers are manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System quality standards and are delivered ready for installation. The refrigeration unit is charged with freon and tested at the manufacturer’s factory. It is used in industrial applications with a high reliability margin.

All equipment components comply with the existing European Union safety and environmental directives:

  • Machinery Directive (MD): 2006/42/EC
  • Low Voltage Directive (LVD): 2006/95/EEC
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (EMC): 2004/108/EEC
  • Pressure Equipment Directive (PED): 97/23/EC

The power of the refrigeration machines is presented in the model range from 124.1 kW to 962.0 kW.

BODY: Made of galvanized durable steel and painted with special powder paint.

COMPRESSOR: Screw semi-hermetic compressor operating on R 407 C refrigerant. The compressor is equipped with shut-off valves on the discharge and suction side, check valve on the discharge line, oil line (oil level switch, sight glass, oil separator, oil filter), crankcase heater, vibration absorbing supports, motor protection and temperature sensors. Power supply is 3f/400V/50Hz.

Evaporator: Shell-and-tube, designed specifically for cooling water and glycol solutions, easily maintained and cleaned of contaminants thanks to the removable tube assembly. The evaporator complies with the standards: EN 14276-1 and EN 13445 and is designed for cooling water and glycol solutions. The evaporator is covered with a special thermal insulation material to keep it cold.

Electrical control panel: The panel has an electrical equipment enclosure protection of IP54. The panel consists of two parts: power and control. The power part contains contactors, relays, and network protection devices. The control part contains a microprocessor and a monitor. The control panel complies with the standard: EN 60204-1. Required power supply: 3 phases, 400 V, 50 Hz.

Microprocessor control system: The device uses a microprocessor-based control system. The system monitors and displays the inlet/outlet liquid temperature, ambient air temperature. Refrigerant pressure at suction and discharge, compressor operating time, all failures or alarms that have occurred in the system, message history.

A microprocessor-based control system decides which modules (compressor and/or free cooling) are active depending on the ambient temperature and the required outlet water temperature. The operating time of each compressor is balanced to ensure optimum plant efficiency.

Components of the cooling circuit: For reliable and automatic operation, the device is equipped with an electronic thermostat, filter dryer, sight glass with indicator, safety valve, low/high pressure relay, and shut-off valves.

Adiabatic system: The adiabatic cooling system is integrated into the unit’s compressor cooling module and operates during the summer season. This system is based on spraying water intermittently from special nozzles onto a non-metallic mesh. The sprayed water on the mesh represents an adiabatic cooling effect when air is drawn into the condenser. Thus, the temperature of the air sucked in by the condenser is reduced, which allows the device to operate with a low condensation pressure. At the same time, the power consumption of the device is reduced.

Free Cooling (section): Free cooling (free cooling) is based on the principle of directly utilizing the cold outside air during the autumn and winter seasons. For this purpose, the system is supplemented with a section with a cooling circuit with a non-freezing liquid (aqueous ethylene/propylene glycol solution). This solution, in turn, is blown by a direct-drive axial fan for greater efficiency. This free-cooling section reduces the operating time of the compressor, which is the main consumer of electricity in the cooling system, and thereby significantly increases its efficiency.
Chillers with the Free Cooling function can save up to 60% of electrical power per year, depending on the ambient temperature. The payback period is 1-1.5 years.

How it works

The system itself determines when to activate the freezing section or adiabatic cooling. For example, in the summer, when the ambient temperature rises above 35°C, the adiabatic cooling system is activated, which reduces the gas condensation pressure, thereby increasing the chiller’s cooling capacity. In autumn and winter, when the air temperature has dropped to 10°C and the water, for example, needs to be supplied to the consumer at +8°C, the system partially cools the water in the free cooling module and further cools it in the compressor-evaporator unit, thereby saving part of the electricity consumed for cooling. In winter, when the air temperature is around zero or below, only the free cooling module operates, and the compressor and evaporator unit does not start at all.
