Ruslan Matsipura, Head of Industrial Cooling Systems, believes that those who decide to link their careers with the supply of industrial equipment must have not only fundamental knowledge in a number of engineering and economic disciplines, but also have a certain personality, a kind of symbiosis between a “nerdy engineer” and a “speculative salesman”. The relationship with a buyer of industrial equipment does not end with a completed sale, but only begins. The client does not want to just buy, he wants to be helped to solve his problem technically, he needs an individual approach.
The list of necessary skills, knowledge and character qualities for a successful industrial equipment supplier manager includes an understanding of technology and a specialist’s charisma, according to Sergey Pryadko, head of the air treatment department. “Selling equipment is different from offering, for example, clothing. Here, the manager must be very flexible and always ready to find a non-standard solution for the customer,” says Sergey Pryadko. Among the mandatory skills of a good manager, the commentator noted the ability to communicate with people, although this quality, according to Sergey, can be developed in oneself. “The main thing here is desire, and there is no limit to perfection,” says Mr. Pryadko.
