WDC Irrigated Dry Cooling Towers

Dry cooling towers (drycoolers) with irrigation are designed for more efficient cooling of the coolant, and the design also includes a water and electricity saving scheme.

The large surface area of the mesh provides effective adiabatic cooling of the surface with minimal reduction in air flow, which means that the water evaporates very quickly and allows the incoming air to cool down in the drycoolers. The use of drycoolers in cooling systems allows for an increase in energy consumption, which means an indirect reduction in CO2 emissions.

1. Irrigated dry cooling towers with a direct irrigation system. Direct adiabatic cooling provides an additional cooling effect. It is carried out by injecting an atomized water jet into the inlet air stream from the heat exchanger. The system includes a number of special nozzles designed to spray water. It strictly regulates the water supply and the order of operation of the nozzles.
2. Irrigated dry cooling towers with the Economesh system. The Ecomesh system is similar to adiabatic cooling, with the only difference being that the air is sprayed onto a special non-metallic mesh. As a result, the suction air is additionally cooled by the evaporation of water on the mesh. Special nozzles spray water in a certain sequence and at a certain frequency.
3. Irrigated dry cooling towers with the Fogging system. The dry cooling tower is also equipped with additional cooling based on the adiabatic cooling effect, with the only difference being that special nozzles spray water into a “mist” with a droplet size of about 35 microns and a high pressure of about 70 bar at the nozzle nozzle.
