The mtu gas generator set has the highest power density and highest kilowatt per square foot ratio in its class. Its smaller footprint allows for a 30% increase in power density compared to the previous model. On 06’s with multiple generators, fewer generators are required to achieve a given capacity. The new gas-fired power plant also has lower installation costs. The gas power plant is based on the successful mtu 4000 series, delivers from 776 to 2535 kW and is optimized for operation in hot and humid environments.

Designed for maximum performance. This gas generator set has an effective engine power of 130 kWm/cylinder – the highest power density in its class thanks to its compact design and small footprint. The Vana delivers superior performance in high temperatures and high humidity for use anywhere in the world and delivers 30% more power than its predecessor.
High efficiency. The natural gas generator set achieves an efficiency of up to 44.4%, providing a significant improvement in fuel/energy use at high temperatures.
Reduced life-cycle costs. All components of gas reciprocating power plants are precisely tuned to ensure a long service life and maximum uptime. Long service intervals and easy-to-maintain components mean low maintenance costs. Rapid availability of spare parts and low engine oil consumption also contribute to lower total life cycle costs, and the cylinder head has a service life potentially equivalent to that of a TBO.
Cleaner and more flexible. The significant reduction in nitrous oxide emissions makes this gas generator set the ideal solution for independent power producers (IPPs) and combined heat and power (CHP) plants. With partial-load capacities of up to 30% and fast start-up capabilities, its operational flexibility is also ideal for demand-responsive applications. The low emissions of 250 mg/Nm3, 500 mg/Nm3, (@5%O2)NOx are achieved without external aftertreatment, even in compliance with the new anticipated German legislation on unburned THC emissions ( < 1300mg@5%O2).

Compact, complete, flexible and self-contained, they are ideal for mobile power generation or for applications where there is not enough space to accommodate a complete gas engine system. When generating electricity from natural gas, installing a genset in a container can be a useful alternative to the more common option of a stationary genset in a generator room. Energy containers produce only electricity and are ideal for remote locations or areas with unreliable power supply. They are often installed at power plants.
