Diesel engines of the VTA28 series

Cummins diesel generators based on VTA28 series engines with output volt-ampere characteristics of 706 and 825 kVA, with a capacity of 565-660 kW. The equipment is designed for medium loads: for small enterprises, factory workshops, construction sites, commercial buildings and structures.

Options for using Cummins C700 D5 – C825 D5A generators

• ESP – emergency backup power supply to engineering systems and various consumers
• LTP – meals for major consumers for a limited time (several hours)
• COP – continuous continuous power supply (autonomous)
• PRP – primary power supply of main consumers with variable load without time limits

According to ISO8528, which describes alternators, the Cummins C700 D5 and C825 D5A models belong to the G3 application class, so they can be loaded with ordinary consumers (lighting, ventilation, pumps, elevators), as well as communication equipment (telecommunications) and thyristor equipment, i.e. equipment with strict requirements for the frequency and voltage curves produced by the power plant.

Components of Cummins power generators

• VTA28 series diesel engine – 4 strokes, 12 cylinders, direct injection, turbocharged with cooling; replaceable dry air filters, fuel and oil filters – centrifugal type with moisture separators
• Brushless alternator: stator with 2/3 pitch windings, single-support rotor with flexible disk coupling, H-type insulation
• PGM permanent magnet excitation system (for better starting and short circuit protection)
• Cooling system with a volume of 162 liters (ethylene glycol coolant) with a heat output of 32700 BTU (approximately 110 kW)
• PowerCommand® 3.3 control panel – 320 × 240 pixel LCD screen, backlit touch buttons
