Diesel engines of the S3.8 series

Industrial diesel generator sets from Cummins, a global manufacturer of electrical equipment, engines and pumps. The S3.8 series includes three models: C44 D5, C55 D5, C66 D5 with a capacity of 44-66 kVA (31-53 kW) and a 3.8-liter engine.

• The products are certified according to ISO9001, CE, comply with Directive 2000/14/EC in terms of noise level during operation (89-95 dB)

Purpose of Cummins S3.8 series diesel generators

This equipment is used for:

• emergency and backup power supply (ESP, Emergency Standby Power);
• primary power supply of permanent consumers with variable load (10% overload is allowed), without time limit (PRP Unlimited Running Time);
• continuous supply of electricity to consumers (COP, Continuous Power).

These modes are regulated by ISO 8528. The same standard defines the type of loads for Cummins C44 D5, C55 D5, C66 D5 diesel generator sets: G2 – lighting, ventilation, utilities, pumps and elevators (lifts).

Main technical characteristics of Cummins 44-55-66 kVA generators

Output current parameters: alternating, frequency 50 Hz, 220 V (1 phase), 380 V (3 phases) – the list of possible modes is given in the data sheet. Voltage regulation ± 1%.

4-stroke single-row turbocharged diesel engine, direct injection, dry air filter with replaceable elements, oil filter with moisture separator. The operating fuel consumption at full load is 9.9-14.7 liters per hour when using the generator as the primary source.

Alternator – single-bearing rotor with flexible disk, stator with 2/3 pitch windings. Insulation class H, low amplitude distortion under nonlinear loads, cooling – direct-drive centrifugal fan.

Microprocessor control with data output to the Power Command panel (flat sensor buttons with LED backlighting, LCD display with indication of operating modes and digital failure and error codes).

Radiator cooling system – removal of up to 13-19 kW of heat (3835-5543 BTU), 12.5-15 liters of coolant, including radiator.

Cummins diesel power plants come with a 12-month warranty. Under the contract, we perform commissioning and post-warranty maintenance.
