The MSS system for filtering air from oil impurities is an innovative development of Mikropor. As an alternative to activated carbon filters and oil-free compressors, this system is much cheaper. Its versatility lies in the fact that MSS units can be easily docked to compressors of any type and at any time.
The MSS chemical filtration unit is integrated directly into the compressor circuit, between the oil separator and the radiator. Hydrocarbons are split on the surface of a porous catalyst through which compressed air is passed. The active area of the catalyst is about 200m2/g, so the probability that some hydrocarbon molecules will remain unsplit is practically zero. The oil molecules are split into carbon dioxide and water and leave the filter as natural constituents along with the operating air flow.
Features of filtering units
The guaranteed service life of the converter, while maintaining air quality at the level of class 1 according to ISO 8573-1, is at least 15,000 hours throughout the entire operating period. The filtered condensate is guaranteed to be oil-free (in fact, it is indistinguishable from drinking water), which means that there are no problems with its disposal.
Due to the constant oxidation and simultaneous “renewal” of the catalyst, ongoing deterioration in performance and air quality is prevented. Other hydrocarbons that have entered the system from the environment will also be oxidized.

The efficiency of the filtration unit does not depend on the temperature at the compressor outlet and air humidity, nor on the concentration of oil at the compressor inlet. The unpretentious system does not require constant monitoring and maintenance. During the design life (up to 15000 hours), periodic visual inspection is sufficient.
