The principle of operation of a chiller with water-cooled condenser
The compressor compresses freon (refrigerant), increasing its pressure and temperature and bringing the refrigerant to a gaseous state. The compressed gas then passes through a condenser, where it is cooled by water from an external source. As a result of the cooling, the gas condenses back into a liquid and releases heat to the water leaving the condenser.
After that, the freon passes through an expansion valve, reducing the pressure and then becoming gaseous in the evaporator. In the process of evaporation, the refrigerant absorbs heat from the coolant (water or glycol solution), thereby cooling it to the desired temperature.
At the end of the cycle, the refrigerant is returned to the compressor, and the process begins again. The water used to cool the freon in the condenser is supplied through a separate water supply system.
Advantages of water-cooled chillers
Water cooling allows the condenser to be cooled quickly and efficiently by using water, which has a higher heat transfer capacity than air. This increases the overall efficiency of the chiller and reduces the load on the compressor.

Disadvantages of water-cooled chillers
