Hot and cold mixers
Hot-cold mixers are designed to prepare a PVC powder mixture with heat stabilizers and additives with the ability to change and dose components. Dalgakiran Compressor Ukraine offers hot and cold mixers for composites based on polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene and polyethylene.
Description of the technological process
The process of manufacturing PVC compound takes place in two stages. In the first stage, the compound is intensively mixed in a hot mixer. The rotation of the mixer generates a large amount of heat and heats the mixture to 120-130 °C. This heat removes excess moisture from the mixture, and its residual moisture is removed using a vacuum unit. At the second stage, the mixture is cooled in a horizontal cold mixer, where the temperature of the PVC mixture is reduced due to the contact of the material with the water-cooled walls of the mixer. The mixer is equipped with special additional high-speed screws that cause the breakdown of any agglomerates. The process results in a homogeneous PVC blend with a moisture content below 1%.

Advantages of hot and cold mixers
The use of hot-cold mixers in the production of polymer products offers the following advantages:
- the ability to use PVC mixtures without the need for additional raw material drying facilities;
- the finished mixture has a moisture content of less than 1% and can be used immediately for processing, without the need to install a degassing device on the extrusion lines;
- the structure of the resulting PVC agglomerate is resistant to component separation in the machine hopper or on pneumatic devices;
- The process allows adding other ingredients to the mixture: pigments, property modifiers, etc.
The resulting mixture can be easily processed on standard plastic processing machines such as extruders, injection molders or presses.
