Dalgakiran team is the champion of Ukraine in 2015!
On June 18-21, 2015, Kyiv hosted the Ukrainian Water-Motor Sports Championship. The competition was held on the waters of the Chortoryi Strait, which washes Trukhaniv Island from the east.
This exciting event was as spectacular as a car race and brought together 65 participants from Kyiv, Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovs’k, Dniprodzerzhynsk, Khmelnytsky, Vinnytsia, Odesa and Serhiivka. All these days, numerous fans on the banks of the river watched the cars roaring over the river with undisguised excitement.
The specificity of water-motor sports, like other technical sports, is that the outcome of the race depends not only on the psycho-motor and volitional qualities of the racer, but also on the technical condition of the vessel, the thoroughness of the engine tuning and, most importantly, the ability of the athlete to feel the car with his or her gut, “hearing” its engine.
Despite the fact that water-motor sports in Ukraine are more than 100 years old (the first competitions were held in Odesa back in 1909), the state pays little attention to the development of this sport. As a result, all costs associated with participation in races are borne by participants and team sponsors. It is safe to say that today, this sport in the country is based mainly on personal enthusiasm. In addition, many racers act as designers and builders. On the one hand, this is good and interesting, but on the other hand, with a lack of funding…

Thanks to the financial and technical support of of the company DALGAKIRANtwo of its talented engineers, Andrey Berezin and Alexander Fedorenko, created a “branded” team and this year again defended the honor of their city and their company in two classes of vessels. Andrey Berezin, a racer and, at the same time, the technical director of the DALGAKIRAN service center, competed in the S-550 class (catamarans with an engine capacity of up to 550 cc), and service engineer Alexander Fedorenko took part in the race of monohull motor boats (class T-550) with the same engine capacity. Both classes are international. By competing in them, athletes gain unique experience and get a chance to participate in prestigious international competitions in the future. By the way, looking ahead, it is worth noting that both Andrey and Alexander participated in the Open Championship of Belarus just a week after the Ukrainian championship and, following the results of the two-day competition, both became champions in their respective classes.

This year’s Championship of Ukraine was attended by 9 classes of sports courts, with the competition held in the format of circuit racing. The athletes started in six races of six laps each, each of 1600 meters long. In an additional endurance race, participants covered 10 laps. A circuit race is a wonderful, adrenaline-filled, but exhausting process. Controlling a high-speed sports car that flies, barely touching the surface of the water, feels and loads similar to flying a pilot plane. At 120-130 km/h, it is impossible to relax for a second. There are new factors all the time: rivals, gusts of wind, waves on the water surface – each lap becomes unique in its own way, and the cost of a mistake is too high.

We are proud to note that the DALGAKIRAN team performed well. Andriy Berezin took second place in the individual standings of the S-550 class, and Alexander Fedorenko was the best in the T-550 class. In parallel to the individual competition, a team classification was held: Juniors, Motorcycles, Scooters, Glider. In a stubborn struggle, the DALGAKIRAN team prevailed over difficult rivals and, for the second time (counting the victory in 2011), became the Champion of Ukraine.
According to the results of the regional competition, the Kyiv team, which included DALGAKIRAN crews, also took third place.

Congratulations to our guys on their well-deserved victories!
